KK Pottery has been a dream of mine for many years now. My husband, Michael Koren, helped inspire me to make KK Pottery a reality.

Soon after I met Michael at the University of Tampa, we decided to take a pottery class together. I instantly loved it, he liked it, but we both had a blast doing it together. I took a couple more pottery classes and then it was time to graduate in May 2016. After graduation, we moved to North Carolina, where I started working as a nurse at Duke University Hospital, and he started working as a scientist for a biotech startup. After a couple year hiatus from pottery, I found Claymakers in Durham, NC. Once I began taking classes at Claymakers, my love of pottery has only grown. I have taken many classes on Wheel Throwing, but in my free time I have taught myself some hand building and experimented with a variety of surface decorating techniques.

Making pottery was a wonderful stress reliever while I got my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and it continued to help me as I worked as a nurse and got my Master of Science in Nursing degree. The ceramics community is full of incredibly diverse individuals and I am so happy to have found such a supportive, fun, and creative group of friends. I am a full time Nurse Practitioner at Duke University Hospital but in my spare time I create pottery for myself, family, friends, and now I’m sharing it with the world. I am so appreciative of all the support my family and friends have provided me, I hope you all enjoy my website!
